ACC technology combines the robustness of copper with active signal conditioning to achieve 5-meter links without optical transceiver complexity. The MCA4J80-N005 features built-in EEPROM for host system identification, supports hot-pluggable OSFP MSA form factor, and automatically adapts to InfiniBand or Ethernet protocol based on the attached switch.
Unlike passive DAC cables limited to sub-3m lengths at 800G speeds, the MCA4J80 series incorporates a pre-emphasis equalizer IC in each connector shell, effectively extending the reach up to 5 meters while preserving signal integrity. The result is near-zero added latency and a fraction of power compared to optical active optical cables (AOCs).
